Tongues of Fire ...

Tongues of Fire

10/10 in Spiritual Symbols Series

Acts 2:3 (NLT) — 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.

The believers were waiting and praying as Christ had commanded …

Luke 24:49 (NLT) — 49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.

And at the proper time, God’s Holy Spirit descended. The tongues of fire symbolize the Divine Power that would speak for God. The believers spoke in tongues—they did not preach in tongues, but rather praised God in languages they did not naturally know. The tongues were like as of fire. It was not fire, but it looked like fire and rested upon each of them. This was the appeal to the eye. So on that Day of Pentecost, when God’s Holy Spirit came to the church, baptizing them into the body of Christ, there was an appeal to the ear (sound) and an appeal to the eye (sight).

Jesus said, "How much more shall your Heavenly Father

give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him."

Papa God! I ask You now in the Name of Jesus to fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit.

I step into the Fullness and Power that I desire in the Name of Jesus.

I declare that I am a freshly-filled, fully alive, Spirit-filled Christian! Praise the Lord! Amen.
