Clap your Hands!


Psalm 47:11-2; 5-8 (NRSV) Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with loud songs of joy. 2 For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome, a great king over all the earth … 5 God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the king of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm. 8 God is king over the nations; God sits on his holy throne. … He is highly exalted.

Psalm 47:1–9 (The Message) Applause, everyone. Bravo, bravissimo! Shout God-songs at the top of your lungs! 2 God Most High is stunning, astride land and ocean. … 5 Loud cheers as God climbs the mountain, a ram’s horn blast at the summit. 6 Sing songs to God, sing out! Sing to our King, sing praise! 7 He’s Lord over earth, so sing your best songs to God. 8 God is Lord of godless nations— sovereign, he’s King of the mountain. 9b … The powers of earth are God’s— he soars over all.

Applause everyone! Clap your hands!

Shout to God with loud songs of joyful praise!

He is Most High, Awesome, Stunning, Great King—over all the earth.

God has gone up with a Mighty SHOUT!

With the sound of the trumpet—a ram’s horn blast! BLARING!

God is King of all the earth!

King of the Nations—Reigning! Sovereign!

He is highly exalted, soaring over all …highly honoured everywhere.

Hallelujah! Amen.
